Through our photography contact’s we were put in touch with one of the UK’s premier photographic training centre’s, ‘Annabel Williams’ based up in the Lake District. The school is lead by Annabel herself, she carries out some of the classes but they do offer a huge variety of courses which are presented by some of the uk’s best photographers, Stewart Randall and Brett Harkness amongst them.
As we now film the majority of our wedding video’s using DSLR video camera’s such as the Canon 5D Mark 2 and Canon 7D (the same camera’s photographers use) we have built up strong relationships with photographers who are interested in the amazing video capabilites of the camera’s they use to take photo’s with.
After seeing a promo video I made for photographer, Stewart Randall, created with the 5D Mark 2, Annabel asked me to create a promo video for her company ‘ Annabel Williams - Photographic Training’.
I spent two days filming up in the Lake’s taking over 6 hours of footage.
This is the result! It should be up next week on their website which is www.annabelwilliams.com
Cant believe how quickly this year has gone, just feels like it’s started and it’s March already!
We have just finised the editing of one of our Wedding Extra’s video’s, ‘Bride + Groom Interview’. We shoot the video sometime after the wedding and spend 3 or 4 hours with the newlyweds filming romantic shots as well as a short interview asking questions such as ‘How did you meet?’ etc……
Below is the video of the Manny + Joti Interview.
If you want see the highlights edit of their wedding video go to our showcase page
We have just been in discussions with the programme department at ‘Wedding TV’ regarding a new series they are doing called ‘Real Weddings’. After looking through the ‘Lenik Wedding Films’ archive of work they have asked us to become a supplier of footage for the programme. We will send through a select choice of wedding videos we have created, past, present and future, (subject to our client, the bride and groom, giving signed permission) to Wedding TV who will then look to broadcast 15-20 minutes of the wedding video on the show.
We feel really honoured that they have asked us for this collaboration and it gives us an excellent opportunity to broadcast and showcase our work. It’s also great for our clients to be able to show the world just how fantastic their wedding day was!
If you would be looking to have your wedding video screened on Wedding TV please contact mark@lenikmedia.com to discuss booking.
Hope 2010 has been good to you so far. January is always a quiet time for us here at Lenik Wedding Films which gives us lots of opportunity to catch up on our editing! This is our very first ‘Wedding Trailer’ as it’s a new service we now offer. Its included in Package Option 3. If you decide to go with Package Option 1 or 2 we can still create one for you at a cost of £250.
Its a taster for the final edited version and gives you a first glimpse of the wedding day.
Nikan + Azizeh’s wedding was amazing, so full of energy and passion. Hope you all enjoy watching it (especially Nikan + Azizeh!). We shot the wedding with 2 camera men (myself + Guillermo) using 3 cameras, the 7D, 5D and the EX-1. We also used the glidetrack system for the motion shots.

We have just completed our latest Wedding Video Showreel and is now available for the first time on ‘Blu Ray’ as well as DVD. So when ordering your showreel please specify which format you would like us to send out to you.
The showreel is made up from mainly our highlights edits from recent weddings (many of which can also be found on our website) To order our showreel please click the ‘Wedding DVD showreel’ link
We have also edited together a short promo trailer with shots taken from the wedding we have just filmed and are yet to edit. We wanted to showcase the shots we have been getting with one of our new equipment purchases, the ‘GlideTrack’, which we now use on every wedding shoot.
As the north stands still because of all the snow, i thought i would get on with some blogging (not had much chance lately!). Christmas was very hectic, filming 4 weddings in 5 days between christmas day and new years eve!
Have just finished editing the wedding of Victoria Hartley + Stephen Pollard which took placeat Ripley Castle in North Yorkshire, near Harrogate. Really is a stunning venue and Victoria made for a beautiful Bride, the perfect ingredients for a great wedding video!
The below video’s are the Photo Sequence and highlights edit of the wedding day, I will be uploading other sections of the wedding day later this week. Also watch out in the next few weeks for our first ‘Wedding Trailer’ edit, taken from the wedding of Nikan +Azizeh. This is a new edit we offer + and is now included in package option 3.
A few months back I was approached by my good friend, Leeds photographer Barnaby Aldrick, to help out on a music video promo he was doing for ‘Gavin Mart’. We filmed the promo at a derilict Church in Headingley starting at 12am finishing at 4am!
We filmed two promo video’s, this is the first one, me and barns will be cutting the second promo in the new year.

To keep at the cutting edge of the wedding video industry we are constantly looking for new technology that will enhance our product. One of the big developments has been the arrival of the VDSLR’s. Essentially these are high end professional digital photo cameras that shoot video. These cameras are nothing short of amazing and give an image that is close to cinema quality.
They are perfect for wedding film production and will change the industry. With more up and coming wedding videographers starting to use these VDSLR cameras we should slowly start to see the end of the tacky poorly edited video look that so many wedding videographers still produce (giving wedding videos a bad name and evoking feelings that wedding videos are cheesy)
The big major difference between these cameras and the usual digital video cameras is the shallow depth of field. Digital video cameras have a big depth of field which means everything in the image is in focus. Shallow depth of field means only a section of the image on screen is in focus and the rest will be blurry for example: the bride and groom are in front of the camera in focus and the background is blurred. The next time you watch a film look out for this as 40-50% of the shots will have this look.
This has been the main difference between the look of video and the look of film. Before VDSLR’s came out, it would have cost over £50,000 to buy a HD movie camera that would achieve the shallow depth of field look (way over any wedding videographers budget) and now your looking at 2-3k.
Lenik Wedding Films have invested in the Canon 5d Mark 2 and the Canon 7D along with a wide variety of lenses. As these cameras are small you need extra equipment to make them feel more like a traditional movie camera so we also bought extra stabilisation rigs.
The new equipment also compliments our already huge outlay this year. We bought the Sony EX-1 which is our main camera unit, along with radio mics and senhiesser shot gun mics. We purchased a steady cam, Glide Track, 4.5m Jib arm, Dolly tracking, Suction car moun, full lighting set up as well as plugins for our editing suite to make our films even more cinematic. With a total outlay this year of 20k we are on our way to establishing ourselves as one of the leading wedding film makers in the UK.
Obviously there is more to making wedding films than having the right equipment you also need the skill, but there is a certain quality you just cannot reach without the right tools. Our aim is for Lenik Wedding Films to be the ‘Best Wedding Video Production Company in UK‘ and we are constantly improving and investing to realise our dream.
Below is an example from a recent wedding that was filmed using the canon 5D Mark 2
We created this video for Randall Photography earlier in the year. We have worked on a number of projects in 2009 with the very talented Stewart Randall. This video took place at a restored Victorian Swimming Baths in Manchester. The idea was to show Stewart’s potential and current clients how important and fun a pre wedding shoot is/can be. It really does go a long way to helping you both to feel prepared and relaxed come the wedding day plus you get to understand Stewart’s style and he understands how then to get the best out of you both on the wedding day.
Lenik Wedding Films and Randall Photography have teamed up to offer a great 10% discount rate if you book both of us to cover your wedding ie stewart to take the photo’s and ‘Lenik Wedding Films’ to create your ‘wedding video‘. That’s 10% off our prices and 10% off Stewart’s prices. So it really does add upto a big saving. The other advantage of booking both of us is that we know how each other works and we will work together as a team ensuring we both get the best shots which helps make our final product the best it can be!
